As an Eco-Congregation we have made a committment to care for God's creation. We do this through spiritual living, practical living and global living. In 2012, we received our 1st Award from Eco Congregation Scotland in recognition of the our worship approach, recycling the old pews when we installed cushioned seats and fitting low energy lighting in the Church, and making a committment to reduce our future energy use.
We have just been given 2nd award for the further work we have undertaken. Our main projects have been the fortnightly Bookroom and Fairtrade Cafe on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each months, and the development of allotments at the rear of the church. We regularly include spiritual issues about caring for our planet in worship, especially in children's addresses, regularly monitor energy use, and have extended our recylcing.
